At the centre (yellow circle), NDPTU’s CORE GROUP, represented in yellow: currently with six members who meet monthly.
Members directly involved in data collection and analysis, reading, writing and reflection, and, increasingly, in public activity, e.g. through contributions to social groups, business, the press and local radio.
ASSOCIATES (grey circle): people who write to the press and directly to us in varying degrees of frequency about matters of shared concern in relation to public transport.
Currently six involved, but number demonstrably increasing.
WIDER CONTACTS (buff circle): community based groups, councillors and personal contacts, who informally raise issues with us, usually arising from direct experience with public transport. Includes many who do not use public transport and want to tell us why (a group we regard as important).
Numbers difficult to determine, but probably about 50 and increasing as we become more widely known.
NOTE: The boundaries between the circles are permeable: people, ideas and information move between them in both directions.
JUDGE US BY THE QUALITY OF WHAT WE SAY!
The logo represents the aspiration of NDPTU to obtain a 21st century consolidated public transport system for northern Devon with ready interchangeability.
The three steps signify symbolically:
step 1 - informed, open and democratic debate
step 2 - integration and best use of modes
step 3 - better public transport
